Another Sunday morning another run, this week Long Sutton 10k which I haven't run before and as it's looking a better day weather wise.

We arrived early (yes even Tim was early!) as the instructions said limited parking, got our numbers  (which had your details already on the back in case of emergency, how many of you don't fill this in?) then prepared for the run. Plenty of toilets, well manned baggage area, tea/ coffee and cake available.

I was one of the early starters so we were given a ten minute warning before our 15 minute  head start, there were about 30 of us and  if felt like we were the elites ! Off we went, our target was how far could we get before being court? The leaders came past but what a pleasant surprise they had words of encouragement for us. Then more of the field overtook, not just club mates but so many  other runners saying positive words of encouragement.

I tried to repay the kindness and wish them a good run, it was so nice to be running next to club mates I never actually see running.

The course was flat, open countryside, so glad it wasn't windy with brilliant support from the race makers. The finish was well organised, a rare occasion there was still a choice in t shirt size, a nice medal and goody bag with drink, crisps, chocolate, sweets in.

Then in true WJ style back to the hall to enjoy coffee and cake ( thank you Shirley) talk about the race and to finish a good day cheer our trophy winners Jude and Deidre who won their respective age categories and celebrate with those who got a PB.

So a good day all round, would definitely do this race again, well done to everyone who took part!

One last question for you, what do people do on a Sunday morning if they don't run? Happy running one and all!
